So, atm I'll be waiting for a sale, and I've waited awhile to let some of these modules be more fleshed out and complete. I don't mind waiting for the F16 if that turns out to be the aircraft that I end up liking best. The only aircraft I have any real knowledge on is the F I want something sexy looking, and multirole.
The F14 can really only do intercepts but its such a sexy plane that it has to make the list. So, if possible, I'd like to know about some issues with the F14 that I have, and also the main differences between the F18C and F16C in terms of capabilities and performance. Really all I know is that the F16 is more agile and has a better top speed.
But that's it. The F14 issue is that, I'm never going to be flying it with 2 people, just by myself.
Teaching myself to fly an F14 will be time consuming, but I don't want to compound it if this "Jester" thing is annoying or a pain to use. Can anyone comment on how jester functions and if it takes away anything from the aircraft or causes any headaches? And then yeah, F18 or F Both are good looking planes I don't prefer one over the other, F14 looks better than both imo though.
Obviously, by the time the F16 gets released the F18 will have more content for it but that isn't really an issue. What plane would you guys suggest? Showing 1 - 15 of 17 comments.
The F is a great sim and loads of fun to fly due to it's older systems. It feels like you are actually flying it. That said it is difficult to master and with Jester in the mix will take quite a while to become proficient in. So easy in fact that I always recommend it to people looking at their first full module. It can also fill any role meaning you get a lot of bang for your buck. It does however have it's downsides.
It isn't finished yet and has a tiny fuel load without sacrificing pylons for fuel tanks.Any DCS World keys purchased from other sources are invalid and are simply trying to re-sell keys that are bound to other users or purchased through fraud. If you purchase DCS World keys from these sites, we cannot help you. We suggest you contact these sites for a refund. User Name. Remember Me? Dear users! F18 or F Open to suggestions. I enjoy the F much more. Old system :IK OC 4.
All DCS modules, maps and campaigns. Both are great. Pick whatever airframe you have more interest in. Carrier or land ops and its more complete. And I just like it more.
Its fine if you get into visual range tho with the ACM mode to lock up, which is how you're having to fly the F18 currently. Jump into an F16 not a single problem. I am more familure with F16 systems and sensors having come from BMS, however there isn't much in terms of basic applications and operations. There a post I've added to explaining my experience. It's in the F18 section. Last edited by Orr89; at PM. I never have any uncommon issues with locking bandits in the F It is loosing lock now and then, yes that is frustrating, but the Hornet offers you so many cool automatic target acquisition possibilities, it is just a joy to lock targets.
Specially the long range helmet acquisition mode is OP. Sniping targets up to 40nm with just a turn of your head is awesome. Yeah, I'd say hornet, for all the same reasons as everyone else. Now once again here we are where we have to chose between some more new variants of the 4Gs.
The new tender floated to locally manufacture single engine fighter aircraft have fighters for it. The tender has attracted two wonderful aircrafts throwing a whole new competition for Indians. And of course a whole new debate topic for Aviation geeks.
Here we are bringing to you the full spectrum of EW capabilities, Weapons and Other warfare capabilities plus potential weaknesses. So that we can make a proper choice as to which one could be better. This came up as a Surprise as nobody thought Lockheed Martin would make any further advancement to the system after making Block 60 for the Arabs.
But still Block 70 packs much masala in it to be an attractive choice for the EW dominated battlefield of the future and today. The strategic advantage as what being talked in defence circles is that Last Production line of F 16 will be shifted in India. The Block 70 is the most advanced of all Fs.
There are 27 countries in the world who fly these planes, with the latest to join in two months time will be Romania. The Block 70 F will have the 5th generation fighter radar capabilities, some of which are greater detection and tracking ranges, multiple target track, high resolution synthetic aperture radar, auto target classification and cueing, advanced growth modes.
Lockheed martin has been in talks with the Indian Govt since April to bring the Texas production line to India, and is the timeframe they are looking at. About jobs being impacted back home in the US, Howard said that the F fighter jet facility will be ramped up, meaning the F workers will be absorbed there. The noise reduction features of this one has made its range improved to almost 70 miles almost 84 km for engagement. The image quality in air to ground mode is described as imagery-class.
Just the same that is acquired from satellites. They can be acquired from long distances for air to ground targets and using its synthetic aperture radar mode pilots can locate and recognise the ground targets. Prioritise them and engage. Which allows sensor data fusion from the EW sensors for better situational awarenesshere notably the data transfer network is quite faster than previous systems like Link It is also equipped with Off boresight aiming sensor which allows pilot to sense and target something out of his field of view.
It also features a pilot friendly automatic ground collision avoidance system. It makes pilot aware and turns up the aircraft automatically if it goes too close to ground. Because while manoeuvring the aircraft to follow an enemy aircraft. The enemy may try to run wmaway by staying low and outmatching F 16 whike taking ups and downs. More availability of parts. Faster Availability in wartime.
So India can sell F 16 spare parts. With almost Medium Weight Category like capabilties.Since then, many members of the public, avgeeks and generals have wondered which is better- F or F? Both the F and F serve in multirole fighter roles for their respective branches, and often serve alongside one another on operation. However, they have never active engagement between one another in anything other than simulations. Both the F and F are multirole fighter aircraft.
As the name would imply, a multirole fighter can be used in multiple roles. These roles might include air-to-air combat, aerial reconnaissance and close air support among others. This is more common of modern fighters, as it allows the aircraft to be used more efficiently, with less aircraft in the hangar.
This also makes it much cheaper, as one aircraft covers several roles, rather than several aircraft covering only one. Today, one aircraft can do all of that! Following the end of the Vietnam War, the US military had learned a lot. As such, after a lot of political maneuvering from mathematician Thomas Christie and Colonel John Boyd, General Dynamics and Northrop were given special funding to develop the fighters of the future.
Since then, over 4, Fs have been built and entered into service. Most notably, the Mitsubishi F-2 in Japan. However, General Dynamics had teamed up with Vought to develop a carrier-based variant of the F the Vought Model The two companies would design, and later build the aircraft together, assembling them at two of their plants. Due to their impeccable service record, several variants of both the F and F exist.
As such, we will compare the specifications between the most common variants of the F and F Both the F and F are multimillion dollar pieces of military equipment, but, when push comes to shove, which aircraft is cheaper in the long run? However, purchasing a used one from another military will set you back less. With that being said, if you were able to find multiple for sale, its likely that you could get a discount.First flown inthe F Eagle entered U.
Air Force service in It was the first U. Its great power, light weight and large wing area combine to make the Eagle very agile. The F evolved from a USAF Lightweight Fighter LWF prototype program which sought a small, lightweight, low cost, air superiority day fighter designed for high performance and ease of maintenance. It achieved combat-ready status in October The program was initiated because many in the fighter community believed that aircraft like the F Eagle were too large and expensive for many combat roles.
On Jan. Former F pilot with the U. A well flown Hornet or Super Hornet is a surprisingly competent adversary. A well flown Eagle should have no trouble, but therein lies the rub.
Gripen E VS F 16 block 70 which one is best choice for Indian Airforce??
What a little pain in the ass that thing is. If it ever grows up to be an adult plane it will be formidable. The only competition in a dog-fight was the F The F was relatively big and slow and easy to beat like the F However, the Hornet driver generally had to be at the top of his or her game because the big-mouth Viper had awesome thrust to weight and could get out of trouble fast.
Nothing could beat the F BVR. When asked by John M.

Dibbs and Lt. We can climb 3, feet above the Hornet, then bunt over to put him in the HUD [for a gun shot]. The Viper is a rate fighter, whereas Hornet guys like to point and keep on pointing. Dario Leone is an aviation, defense and military writer.

I need to keep my boat in my garage. Length: 21 ft and height: 7ft 8 in. Do you think F18 will fit in my garage? Tags: None. Comment Post Cancel. I don't think the dealer will be welling to do that specially I live 60 miles away from the closet one.
I measured the length, I believe it will work. My worry is about the height on the trailer. I feel it is over 8 ft. The dealer don't have F16 in stockbut if they will put the same trailer of element, I believe it will be below 8 ft Just want to confirm that too.But they also have some big differences.
Let's look over some of them:. This is largely due to their differing operational environments. Of course, this also bears a lot on survivability. If an F loses an engine, the pilot's gotta grab the loud handle. The F is tied to land bases — its landing gear cannot handle the shock of hitting a carrier deck. Aggressor pilots are trained to act as opposing forces in exercises like RF-A to better prepare U.
Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Joshua Turner. Did you know the F originally didn't have any radar-guided missiles? US Air Force. The F has a top speed of Mach 2. Still, these planes are both very fast when they need to be. But in a pure drag race, the F will win — and by a decent margin. Christopher Ruano. The good news is that it can use just about anyone's tankers — even USAF tankers, which are modified to carry drogues in addition to their booms.
Part of this is because the Air Force also has to refuel big bombers and cargo planes that need a lot of fuel quickly — and the boom can do just that.
The F has a clear edge in this one. March 23, EST. Let's look over some of them: 1. The 8 rules for rookie combat pilots in World War I. One of the closest brushes with nuclear war was Russia vs China. This Civil War battle literally saw brother against brother.
